Australia tattoo Academy 2012

My Adventure to Australia Tattoo Academy

Warning-I do have bit of trouble of spelling due to being dyslexic,
if you see a mistake please leave a nice comment about it no need to be rude.

So I been on a adventure to Melbourne/Victoria and went to learn about tattooing, and being a safe and clean tattoo artist.
It was lot of fun, Mitch and Albert are the two guys running the academy, they are most friendly guys and made course fun to learn and made  it easy for everyone, as I got dyslexic and asperges.

the tattoo academy cover all the important stuff in the tattoo industry, like Health and safety, Sterilizing, tattoo history, technicians in drawing and tracing, and as well how to use the tattoo machine and how to start your own shop if you are planning to do that.
DAY ONE:
Was introduction day and playing with tracing, shading, color and to fix the face, the Picture above is a example I did in class. Not the greatest work but more playing with it and learn different ways to work with.

DAY TWO:
Learn about Health and safety as well about how put the needle in the machine, keeping your work studio clean, mixing ink and only with some brands in ink, where to buy your gear and is it safe or not (PLEASE don't buy a cheap kits of eBay they are not safe to put on humans).

Picture on the left:
Near end of class we learn to do a cover up old tattoo or bring the color out, I decide to do a cover up and add bits to it.
This drawing is no where near finishing, again just playing round with the design.
Test learning around the tattoo machines

DAY THREE:
Introduction into drawing and stenciling. During the day we leant shape, size, and the right use for needles and what one best to use in tattooing. As well learn how to fading colors of the skin for toning/shading. As well how to put the stenciling onto people and make sure they are happy with it and not gonna come out bad after been tattooed on.

Above Left picture playing with grey wash shading and on the right adding color, can see I play with just color on it own with out adding the grey under , Again just playing around, while listening to Mitch.
As well on the day we play round with tattoo machines to get the feel of it and how to set to set it up and how to set up your work area before and after the tattooing.

On the Left, we done setting up our work area and play with the tattoo machines.
We did start doing the out line first and then start coloring the next day, I did forgotten to take a photo of just the out line.
But this is just a rough Idea what we did on the day.

Test doing Tattoo History

DAY FOUR:
Started to work on our fake skin (like thin piece of rubber) half class the other half playing with more tracing work, shading color and changing design for a customer. And learn how to set up your work studio, setting up tattoo machines and as well to keep clean during and after tattooing someone.

On the Left, we had task to change the design.
Instead mask coming out of water change to fire flames, instead of bells have a scroll with a birt date on it.
Again It not finish and playing round with color,
as you can see the flames have 3 different ways to color them, witch I did to what was the best one to go with the design.

As well we did some coloring on the fake skin, the picture above with the fish eye in the sea.

Test in Health and saftey

DAY FIVE (last day):
We had final test of everything we learn pass four days. Then Had Half class work on the fake skin and the other half, going through what we might miss out last four days and make sure we under stand and doing more drawing tracing work.

Again playing round with color and shading.

This My fake skin I did, as you can see it patchy everywhere due to tattooing on rubber, the rubber stretch each time the needles goes in.
But this is a rough Idea what we do for practices and getting the feel using the tattoo machines.

So Yeah this is what roughly what we do at Australia Tattoo Academy. So if you are worry if it a scam, it not, I was worrying first if it a scam, but it not, It real and one of the best study/ learning thing I ever done, and Mitch and Albert are awesome guys and no what they are doing, and they will help you in any way they can, as I said earlier I have dyslexia (mild) and Asperges (mild), and it was one of most easy class I done.
And this will help you to get apprentices or opening your own tattoo shop :)
